If you want to be close to winter events, living at the Sharples Works will put you right in the middle of all of the action!

Taking a stroll through downtown West Chester is a great way to experience the sights and sounds of the holidays, as the many businesses and residents have gone all out this year with lights, music and more. Not to mention, you can easily cross lots of folks off of your holiday shopping list at the area’s shops! But if you’re looking for more ways to celebrate, consider some of these holiday events West Chester apartment residents can experience.

West Chester Railroad
Grab the little ones in your life (or revisit your childhood!) and hop aboard the heated train cars of the West Chester Railroad for Santa’s Express. Held on weekends in December, the 90-minute train tour of the Chester Creek Valley features visits from and pictures with Santa and his crew, as well as live music and more.

Brandywine Ballet Presents The Nutcracker
Ring in the season with a live viewing of this holiday classic. The Brandywine Ballet puts on eight performances of The Nutcracker on the second and third weekends in December. With original choreography, this ballet will delight people of all ages.

The Holiday Hayride at Arasapha Farms
Take friends and family to enjoy a lovely Holiday Hayride through the rolling hills of Arasapha Farms in Glen Mills, just a short drive from the Sharples Works. The 20-minute ride through the farm’s Christmas lights display is choreographed to favorite holiday songs. After the hayride, stick around to have a cup of hot cocoa while relaxing by a bonfire, have your photo taken with Santa, or choose the perfect live tree to take home with you.

A Longwood Christmas
Less than a half-hour from West Chester is one of the region’s most popular holiday attractions: Longwood Gardens. Stroll the grounds at night for amazing views of the holiday lights or hide out indoors to take in the holiday decorations, beautiful winter plants, organ concerts, and festive food and drinks.
