Open Source: Engaging Audiences in Public Space – Now through October 31
This citywide exhibition will bring 14 artists from around the world to take Philadelphia’s art to a new level. Developed by the Mural Arts Program and curated by Pedro Alonzo, the month-long program features 14 new public artworks, tours, programs, events, and more.
PHeaSt – October 16
Sample fresh fall produce and delicious dishes from local farmers and top chefs at this garden-to-table celebration from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Benefitting the City Harvest Program, this annual event will be a food-filled evening, featuring farm fresh fare, seasonal cocktails and craft beer, gardening tips, and special events. PHeaSt will be held at the PHS Warehouse at the Navy Yard on October 16 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Tickets are available online.
Philadelphia Film Festival – October 22-November 1
More of a film buff than a foodie? The Philadelphia Film Society’s 24th annual Philadelphia Film Festival kicks off on October 22 with two movie screenings and an opening night party at 1925 Lounge in Rittenhouse. The 11-day festival will showcase dozens of independent and foreign films throughout the city, so be sure to check out the full schedule.

Philadelphia Marathon – November 20-22
The countdown is on for this year’s Race Weekend. Whether you’re participating in one of the races, volunteering, or cheering along, there’s an event for everyone. The weekend starts with the Health & Fitness Expo on November 20th and 21st, followed by the Rothman Institute 8K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, November 21st. On Sunday, November 22nd, the half-marathon and marathon will journey from the Benjamin Franklin Parkway throughout the city, passing Philadelphia’s most iconic landmarks.
